FREE Email Software that works for you
These days a Email Software is a 'must' for Windows operated Computers and below are some of those that seems to have a good reputation and still be free, unless it is for Business use
Email Software and
At present these 3 are the main ones
Google Mail - webmail
They say: Gmail is built on the idea that email can be more intuitive, efficient, and useful. And maybe even fun.
Well, it is fun to use, but that is all it is in my view - very useful in certain circumstances and I suggest you sign up for use as a backup or other uses you believe fit your personality.
Google all in all has some great software and services, but sometime they get the 'Big Boys' syndrome, a bit like Microsoft and forget why computers are called 'Personal' Computers - WE, managed them not Google or Microsoft.
Having said that, these 2 Companies are certainly great Companies, but as any Big Company
they tend to be invasive and sometime too much.
Microsoft Live Mail - webmail - link is on the ALL languages page, please note: Microsoft will try its best to download and install the whole package and if you are only interested in some of the programmes, do un-tick what you believe you do not need - you can always install the rest when you wish so.
I am saying this because being many programmes within the Essential package and when installed they will automatically run in the background, some slower computer may suffer a loss in performance due to that - you are warned!
With the advent of their operative system Vista they replaced the much beloved and used email programme ever [Outlook Express] with Windows Mail.
As the OS Vista with Windows 7, Windows Mail was the precursor of Windows Live Mail.
They were preparing the road to webmail and lighten 'their load' on software development and therefore save money and at the same time being LIVE mail, they would 'better' track users habits and target advertising more than ever as they are also doing within their Messenger programme.
I personally stopped using Microsoft Email when this change happened and I am happily using Thunderbird - although I was already using it on some of our computers for years, as Mozilla Firefox Browser
Mozilla Thunderbird - link is on the ALL languages page - choose at your pleasure
Probably the 'only' computer based really FREE email programme available at present and without advertising and as they say:
Get the award-winning email application from Mozilla. Import your existing mail and enjoy our new features like tabbed email and advanced search.
It has a great interface which some outlook express users may find strange at first, but on the long run you will notice it actually is 'easier' to use and it does work the way 'you' want as it is very adaptable and it has loads of extensions like Firefox.
THey also have 32bit and 64bit
version making it faster for 64bit users and there are also versions for Linux, Mac and Windows 32bit and 64bit !
IT may take a while to learn, especially at the beginning not knowing what does what.
But that is normal on any 'new' task you encounter or take - it is called learning!
