iPad Repairs Locally

Our range of Repairs is growing

Did you notice we mention prices with 'from'?
That is because we keep minimal stock to get the latest Spare Parts, the in-shop price list is refreshed very often [website might take longer] - therefore prices may change up or down.

This is not a New Service, we have been doing it for a few years now - it was never properly advertised - we prefer word of mouth!
We always keep you informed of what goes on.

Below pricing may change, please call down the shop with 'full model number from back [you will find at bottom of it, A----]

iPad Glass replacement usually repaired within 2 hours - unless we have a queue, there is a short stock or it is to near shop closing time.
We do not rush our repairs, because 'we ARE technicians' and not 'just' nowadays' re-placers - no Cow-boy hats present in our premises!

How we repair it:

1. glass de-glued
2. LCD protected
3. we test new glass+digitiser
4. we clean iPad from 'any' glass debris
5. we check/bend aluminium edges if needed - unless too damaged!
6. we prepare it for 'proper' gluing
7. we press it for a certain time
8. we re-test it
9. Done

Note: proper gluing is meant to be done 'properly' and should not re-unglue itself!

We only had one glass that unglued itself after repair [we do not hide!] and the reason was because the owner tried to do it himself and damaged the aluminium edges + walked on it and this aluminium is not of the strongest type, it is very malleable.
It is easy to scrape under the microscope - we have seen it with high granularity - i.e. it bends!

Therefore it will not be anymore level and glass might unglue or even shatter - if aluminium base is bent too much!

We did re-glue it for this customer free of charge.

So, DO NOT leave it on the floor or near radiators!

Ideally we would prefer to keep it overnight under pressure - for better gluing, but it seems these days we want a proper job done in half the time!

Kids have small fingers and might press the HOME button in, in the long run!
HOME button is meant to be use by 'larger' fingers [adults] or light touch - Apple did not state that in their user manual - I wonder why!

ALL repairs that require connector replacement are not guaranteed
It will depend on the state of the PCB!

Glass + Digitiser Units from iPad 1 to iPad Air are mostly in stock [Black or White] - therefore repairs can be done fast enough if there are no other problems

Please also note: we do not replace or repair iPads from iPad Air 2, due to the fact they have their LCD 'glued' onto the Glass + Digitiser unit

i.e. best to keep iPad older than the iPad Air 2 and avoid exorbitant bills or even have the LCD ruined by 'heat' during attempt to un-glue the broken glass from LCD !

It is silly to claim to be able to repair anything - we do not!
The aim is to do our best, within reasonable 'human' limits.

Limits normally are either lack or too expensive spare parts or simply we are not specialized on a certain field.

Sometime we can create our own Mods and keep Brown Goods working for longer.
Especially 'expensive' accessories for gadgets and Music Centres, Play Docks, etc.

This is what we have always done and often get results, but it is not always possible and may not be cost effective.

We do Reflow of GPUs/etc. circuit boards where possible.

In the unlikely event we cannot help you and it usually is because we do not carry out repairs on certain devices or it is not economical for us to do it [i.e. requires too much time] or simply it is not our specialty - we say 'we cannot help you and why'

We do not hide behind our counter &
we will recommend you to a reputable business for your device [if we know one].

We do not own a Cowboy hat!

You always know where you are with us, we keep you - the customer - informed.

We keep a Listing of Devices we Repair of over 90 pages these days and they are updated when we get the time.
MSelectrical always give you an idea of costs, either on the counter or via estimate [i.e. we examine device and call you with an estimate of costs].
Although an Estimate, remains an estimate and not a certainty as many devices can show other faults after we repair the main one and make it run again.
In that case we will inform you if there is further work to be done.
